🇺🇸 US Instrumental Post Blackened Sludge with a dark atmosphere and impressive musical construction highlighted by dissonant guitar riffs that are at the same time cohesive and disturbing, embedded with diverse elements that lead to an intense and immersive sci-fi sonic journey described by Laden. Incredibly perfect cover art in its wealth of details! ⛧
Favorite track: The Bent Black Figure Wandered Among The Crosses.
Taking inspiration from bands like Latitudes, The Ocean, Cult of Luna, Cloudkicker, Celeste, Ulcerate, and Cranial, Laden's third album The Visitation, guides listeners on a post-metal journey with elements of black, prog, and sludge metal.
The atmosphere of the album is influenced from the book Roadside Picnic by Arkady Strugatsky and Boris Strugatsky, and continues the sci-fi spirit of the first album We Searched For New Worlds, while growing musically from the second album Restless Apparition.
"Seattle’s Laden captures the storm and stress of the greatest, grimmest post-metal, crafting songs from 20-megaton riffs." -J. Edward Keyes Bandcamp

One of my favorite albums from 2020. Wake's Devouring Ruin absolutely floored me on the first listen, and then continued to do so for the rest of the year. I cannot recommend this album enough. Laden
Latitudes have been a massive inspiration to me and their latest effort just shows how they can evolve and conquer whatever they tackle. This album has made it into my favorite albums of all time. Laden

Abigail Williams has had a weird career with hiatuses and lineup changes, but they have finally perfected their sound on Walk Beyond the Dark. This album has such a refreshing and natural feeling that makes it one of the top atmospheric black metal albums of recent years. Ryan
